MAMA HACKS – Coach Jazze Lowe

I've had numerous conversations with other mom's on how to save time and money while juggling it all.

Among other lists in my phone, I started a mama's hack list to share helpful tips with other busy mommy's.

If you have any life changing mama hacks you'd like to share please feel free to write in the comments below.

1.) Reuse mixed match socks

I don't know about you but it's almost near impossible to get the house cleaning done when your kids are all over the place. Here's a way to keep them occupied and helpful why taking care of other house duties. My 2.5 year old has a ton of mixed match socks in his drawer. We threw on a few layers of any two pairs, I sprayed a little diluted cleaner from a Target spray bottle (pick a cleaner on amazon ) and let them skate over the floors to clean it. Now you've created a fun way to clean the floors. It's a win/win for everyone πŸ˜‰

2. The Baby Shusher Hack

I don't know why white noise does the trick, but it does and I am BEYOND grateful for this invention. This is one of the best sleep hacks.

The Baby Shusher  has:

  • 15-30mins timer to assure a long shushing session.
  • Adjustable volume control.
  • Also comes with an adjustable wrist strap so you can carry around with you.

3. Landry Basket Bath Time

This hack was introduced to me by one of my lovely aunts. When visiting our house for the first time, she remembered how big our bathroom tub was. She said " if you put Cheeks in a laundry basket you wont have to worry about him slipping and sliding all over the place. He'll be in a small space." I thought this was a great idea and so did a lot of other moms as I researched this idea online. This is a very creative, affordable and in my opinion, a safe way to keep the little one's occupied during bath time. But obviously still keeping our eyes on our little angels at all times. xo

4. Chaos to Clean

I honestly thought our rocking chair was a complete write-off after our son displayed his "work of art” with a black pen. I'm usually really good at keeping a lot of little things out of his reach. Things that I know he can do a lot of damage with. Well this particular day he caught me slipping.

I immediately jumped online and researched what would work to get pen out of microfiber material. Here's a list of the products I used below to bring our rocking chair back to life.

- Hot water in a small bucket mixed with laundry detergent

- First wet the area with this mixture using a cloth and rubbing in a circle pattern

- Then spray the area with Windex repeating the circle motion with the cloth.

Good Luck Mama!!

Holiday Plan: Thanksgiving & Christmas Edition with tips/ tricks:

Can you believe we're entering the holiday season of 2019 already!?! This year zoomed by like no other right!

This time of year is the most joyous time to spend with family and friends, eat sinfully delicious food & drink to our hearts content. But the breaks during each holiday, I feel, is the most challenging when trying to balance a healthy eating lifestyle. From Halloween to Thanksgiving to Christmas and New Years, the average person gains 7-10lbs !!! LIKE WHOA! My exact reaction.

So you're probably asking, so what can you do to TRY not to fall into this statistic holiday pool. I find when I start with a plan I have a higher success rate in whatever I'm trying to achieve. So if maintaining your weight and not gaining is your focus, lets take a look at these 5 tips to help you stay on track and still be able to enjoy the holiday season.

1. Fail to plan means you'll plan to fail:

Getting back to my fist suggestion of making a plan will work wonders. Not once will you hear me say " don't eat this or don't eat that" . But you hear me saying " 80/20 girl, 80/20 " I live by that rule because I know you can still get results without complete deprivation.

What has worked for me in the past is figuring out what I'll eat while at a holiday party. What will I drink? When will my next workout be before and after this party? Did I bring enough water with me? I'll go into depth with all of this in the upcoming tips. But sitting down and really mapping out a plan will have you not feeling guilty and being able to 100% enjoy your time with family and friends.

2. Get that workout in GIRRRRLLL :

Commit to working out 20-30mins per day during the holiday season. You'll get that happy chemical flowing throughout the body. Not to mention burning extra calories from auntie's mac & cheese!!! ( droool) Having an accountability partner can help in a major way. If you're looking for  the right fit fam, my tribe and I workout via zoom together. 3. Follow the 80/20 rule:

We're not robots guys, so don't get too down on yourself for not following your plan to the letter of the law. Plan what you'll indulge in during your party (20%) so you know after the party you can focus back on your goals and eating healthy most of the time (80%)

4. Drink half your body weight in water:

Get your water ready folks because H2o will be your best friend during the holidays. Especially after all the rum and eggnog you'll be enjoying.  Getting back to H2o, make sure you fill your water bottle before you leave the house. Yes, I know, it might be very challenging to drink that much water during a party but do your best to drink as much as possible. Trust me you'll thank me later πŸ˜‰

How to calculate: for example my weight 135/2= 67.5oz

5. Hunger Pains:

Do NOT; I repeat DO NOT go to a holiday party hungry. Fill up on protein and veggies before the party. This will not only help you make better food decisions but your eyes wont be bigger than your belly where you'll want to eat everything in sight. You'll be more in control of your portions.
